Elsen Tasarkhai Sand Dunes

Ulaanbaatar → Elsen Tasarkhai → Tsetserleg

We begin our journey early in the morning, leaving Ulaanbaatar behind and heading west. Our first major stop is at the stunning Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes, a miniature Gobi in the middle of the steppe. After lunch and exploration time at the dunes, we continue to the charming town of Tsetserleg, nestled in the mountains.

White Lake

Tsetserleg → Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake → Khorgo

Today we ride through stunning mountain scenery to reach the breathtaking Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake (White Lake). This freshwater lake is surrounded by extinct volcanoes and lush meadows, offering some of the most picturesque views in Mongolia. We'll spend time exploring the lake area and continue to Khorgo, an extinct volcano with unique lava formations.

Khorgo → Khatgal (Khuvsgul Lake)

Our longest riding day takes us north through diverse landscapes to reach Mongolia's crown jewel - the crystal-clear Khuvsgul Lake. This sacred lake contains about 1% of the world's fresh water and is surrounded by mountains and forests. We arrive at the small town of Khatgal, the gateway to the lake.

Khatgal (Rest Day)

Today is a well-deserved rest day at Khuvsgul Lake. Take time to relax, enjoy the pristine nature, or engage in various optional activities. The area offers beautiful hiking trails through forests, boat rides on the crystal-clear water, and opportunities to interact with local Tsaatan reindeer herders who inhabit the region.

Khatgal → Khankh (Northern shore)

Today we ride along the western shore of Khuvsgul Lake, following scenic trails with panoramic vistas of the water and surrounding mountains. The ride takes us to Khankh, a remote settlement near the Russian border. This less-visited part of the lake offers unspoiled natural beauty and tranquility.

Khankh → Renchinlkhumbe → Ulaan-Uul

Today we venture into the remote Darkhad Depression, home to some of Mongolia's most isolated communities. We'll ride through the challenging but beautiful terrain to the settlements of Renchinlkhumbe and Ulaan-Uul. This area is known for its traditional shamanic culture and pristine wilderness.

Ulaan-Uul → Bulgan Province

Leaving the remote northern regions behind, we begin our journey southward through the scenic landscapes of Bulgan Province. This area is characterized by rolling hills, forested mountains, and open grasslands where nomadic herders tend to their animals. We'll stay in a comfortable ger camp in the heart of Bulgan.

Khustai National Park

Bulgan → Khustai National Park

Today's ride brings us to Khustai National Park, home to the successfully reintroduced Przewalski's wild horses (takhi). These are the last truly wild horses on Earth, and the park offers an excellent opportunity to observe them in their natural habitat. The diverse steppe ecosystem also supports many other wildlife species.

Our final day of riding takes us back to Ulaanbaatar. We'll have a relaxed morning at Khustai with one last chance to observe wildlife before taking a leisurely ride back to the capital. Upon arrival, we'll return the motorcycles, check into our hotel, and celebrate our amazing journey with a special farewell dinner in the city.
